Welcome to RaRMS

Rural and Remote Medical Services Ltd (RaRMS) was established in 2001 by the NSW Rural Doctors Network as a not for profit organisation to provide practice management support to rural medical practices.

RaRMS has addressed many of the barriers in rural and remote areas and found a mechanism where GPs retain control over the clinical and major policy aspects of their practices without having to be business or administrative managers.

RaRMS has grown significantly in recent years, becoming the largest not-for-profit practice management entity in NSW, if not Australia.  Whilst it was always a separate legal entity, in 2014 RaRMS became completely independent of the NSW Rural Doctors Network in both an operational and governance sense, and is now governed by a non-representative skills based Board.

RaRMS continues to work closely with a number of key stakeholders including medical practitioners, allied health service providers, Local Health Districts, Primary Health Networks, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, NSW Rural Doctors Network, GP training providers and local Shire Councils to improve health service delivery in rural and remote communities.
